Computer Hackers Try to Extort Cinnaminson Man: Police

The hackers claimed they were working for Microsoft, Cinnaminson Police say.

Hackers tried to extort a township resident this week by infecting his computer, then demanding he pay them to fix it, police said.  According to Cinnaminson Police, the resident received a phone call Wednesday afternoon from individuals who claimed they were from Microsoft Windows. They told him that "Windows had detected that he was being hacked" and they were going to have to revoke the computer's Windows license. The callers directed the resident to a remote desktop website, took over control of his computer, and then installed malicious software on the computer, police said. The hackers then demanded immediate payment to "fix" the computer. The victim told police the callers spoke English with an Indian accent and transferred him …

String of Vehicle Burglaries Tied to Philly Man: Police

CInnaminson Police say he had just burglarized a vehicle on Woodhaven Drive when they caught him.

A Philadelphia man was arrested last week for allegedly committing a rash of vehicle burglaries throughout Cinnaminson and Moorestown, police said.  A Cinnaminson police officer was on patrol near Woodhaven Drive at 3:33 a.m. Friday, May 3, when he noticed a man acting suspiciously near a vehicle, according to a report. The officer stopped the man and began an investigation, during which he discovered the man was a suspect in the attempted burglary of a Cinnaminson home and had just burglarized a vehicle on Woodhaven Drive. Police arrested the man, Nicholas Robertson, 34, of 7000 block of Edmund Street, Philadelphia, and subsequently discovered—through a joint investigation with Moorestown Police detectives—that he had committed burglaries…

Riverton Woman Wanted in Burlington County on Warrant

Zoe M. Daly failed to appear in state Superior Court in Mount Holly, according to the Burlington County Sheriff's Department.

Zoe M. Daly, 22, of Riverton, is wanted by the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department on a warrant. Daly failed to appear in state Superior Court in Mount Holly on charges of false swearing and false reporting to a law-enforcement officer, authorities said.  Her last known address was on Elm Terrace in Riverton. Daly is approximately 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighs 100 pounds, and has brown hair and blue eyes. She has “da Vinci Writing Wave" tattooed on her left shoulder.  Anyone who knows Daly’s whereabouts should not attempt to apprehend her. Officers to Visit Local Memorials Ahead of Police Unity Tour

Police officers from Moorestown and neighboring departments will stop at memorials in the area Thursday, including Fullerton Park, before they begin the main leg of the annual Police Unity Tour.

Before they join hundreds of other law enforcement officials on the Police Unity Tour to Washington, D.C. Thursday, local police officers will do their own tour of local memorials to pay tribute to their fallen brethren. Each year, officers from Moorestown and neighboring departments take part in the Unity Tour, a 200-mile bike ride to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in D.C. that raises awareness and money for fallen police officers and their families. The first Unity Tour—the motto of which is, "We Ride For Those Who Died"—began in Florham Park, NJ with only 18 officers in 1997. Last year, approximately 1,600 officers made the ride to D.C. Sgt. Updated at 5:10 p.m., May 6 The father of two Gloucester City siblings reported missing confirmed to authorities Monday he has the children—and that he's not breaking any laws. Leo Giordano contacted the Camden County Prosecutor's Office to confirm Brianna Giordano, 5, and Lee Giordano Jr., 2, are in his care. Earlier, the children's mother reported them missing after Giordano never returned Brianna and Lee following a Sunday visit. Man Caught with Weapon at Burlco Courthouse: Authorities

The Mount Ephraim man was found with a pistol in his briefcase and a dagger in his car, according to the Burlington County Sheriff's Department.

A Camden County man was arrested Wednesday after he tried to enter the Burlington County Courts facility in Mount Holly with a weapon, authorities said. John P. Flanagan, 53, of the 200 block of James Street, Mount Ephraim, was attempting to pass through security at the court facility around 8 a.m. when sheriff's officers discovered a single-action pistol—a Chinese-make, .22-caliber, starter blank revolver 8-shot—in a briefcase that was run through the x-ray machine, according to a release from the sheriff's department. Woman Held Up in Gunpoint Robbery: Police

Cinnaminson Police are searching for the man who robbed a woman Tuesday outside of a tanning salon.

An unknown man robbed a woman at gunpoint in Cinnaminson Tuesday night, police reported, and officers continue to search for the perpetrator. The woman was walking to her car around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday when the man approached her, drew a gun and demanded her money. He ran off with the woman’s purse. She was not injured. The robbery took place outside Key West Tan at 1907 Cinnaminson Ave. The gunman is described as a white male, 20-25 years old and approximately 5 feet, 6 inches. He has a thin build, blondish hair, blue eyes and some reddish facial hair, according to police. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue cap and light blue jeans. Copper Thief on the Run After Being Caught in Act, Police Say

Maple Shade Police are asking for the public's help in tracking down the alleged thief, a former Cinnaminson resident.

Police are on the trail of a former Cinnaminson man who was allegedly caught walking out of a vacant home with a bundle of copper pipe Tuesday morning. A landlord’s son arrived at an unoccupied home they own on the 600 block of Princeton Avenue in Maple Shade shortly before 8:30 a.m. and found an unknown pickup truck in the driveway, according to Maple Shade Police. While calling his father to ask about the truck, a man exited the front door with a container full of copper pipes. The thief threw the copper pipes in the back of his truck and sped across the lawn onto Route 73 to escape, police said. Using a description of the thief and his truck, police quickly located where he had just sold the copper in Camden and, thanks to accurate …
