Hi, I'm Adele. I'm an extremely sweet little 4- to 5-year-old calico girl who's just looking for a place to call home. I am very social and outgoing, and I'm happy to be petted by anybody. I'm a pretty mellow cat and am not startled by much. I love to relax by a window and just be in good company. I am very loving and affectionate. I'd really like to meet you. Adele has tested positive for FIV (Feline AIDS). Please don't let her FIV+ status scare you. She is a healthy kitty and should live a normal life. FIV is NOT as serious a condition like AIDS in humans nor is it the same virus. It CANNOT be transmitted to humans or dogs. FIV+ cats can live long, happy and healthy lives without medical intervention. There is a small chance that FIV …

Bosco is such a happy dog, always smiling! This sweet friendly fellow, around 8-9 years old, is most likely blind but may see shadows, which means he sometimes bumps into things and relies a lot on his hearing. But that doesn't seem to affect his mood! He loves taking walks, and is great on the leash. You will not have any problem walking him. His ears perk up to whistling, so perhaps he's had training and he just needs a reminder. He's a larger dog with lovely brindle brown and tan/white fur, and his face has unusual and distinctive markings. Bosco came to the shelter after being removed from a hoarding situation. Please see his video for more on his sad story. This senior guy still has lots of love to give and deserves a new home with …

Capton is a year old orange tabby ready to get onboard to his new home. Capton is calm, loving and would be a great feline companion. He was surrendered to the shelter due to no fault of his own, and now finds himself stuck in a cage and missing his family. If you are searching for a sweet kitty who is laid back and very sweet, why not stop by the Burlington County Animal Shelter to meet Capton (yes, a play on words) and give him an Ahoy Matey or call 609-265-5073. Refer to Capton's ID #51772. Remember adoption fees are waived for Burlington County resident military personnel, seniors and county employees.

Ladie came to the shelter as a neglect case along with several other dogs. She obviously was used by her prior owner as a puppy machine for money. It's sad, but a common reality. Ladie is between 4 and 5 years old and weighs 51 lbs. She now has a second chance at a better life. Our volunteers report she is friendly, gives kisses and loves to go for walks. Ladie is not a hyperactive dog, and has become a volunteer favorite because she is mellow and walks well on her leash. Now that all her puppies have been adopted out, this happy girl is hoping to find a family that will love her and keep her safe for the rest of her life. Check out her video for more information. Ladie is a member of our Pooch With Perks Program. When you adopt, you …

My name is Maribel and I am a 1-2 year old dilute tortoiseshell cat, but more importantly, wanna play?! I have lots of energy once I'm out of my cage and I like to run around and explore... and play! My favorite toys just might be feather wands—remember that. I do like people and being petted, and I'm a pretty outgoing kitty, as well as a pretty one. I'm very sleek and shiny. I'd really like a home though, where I can... PLAY! So come take me home and let's be buddies When inquiring about Maribel, refer to her ID #C-50330. The shelter can be reached at 609-265-5073. This cat is a member of our Purrfect Perks Program. When you adopt this pet you will receive a kitty goodie bag donated by a volunteer with the Friends of the Burlington …

Well, Darla is just plain darlin’! Darla is under 2 years old, is a lovely red brindle, has a cute floppy ear, and weighs about 35 lbs. She’s very people-oriented, gave kisses and loved attention. Darla is also food-motivated, so she will be easy to train using positive training methods. She caught on to the sit for a treat game quickly. She needs leash training and a beginner obedience class would help her learn the basics of good behavior. This is a sweet, active dog that should fit well into just about any family willing to train her and give her plenty of exercise and games. She's probably a bit too bouncy for small kids but she should be fine with older ones. Our volunteers report she now knows sit and just loves to cuddle. She’s a…

Nova is a heavenly dog! This beautiful guy is a greyhound mix with a white/gray coat. He weighs only 45 pounds so he might like being a lap dog! Nova is a youngster at 8-9 months old, so he's got many good years to provide companionship to some lucky family. His previous owner says Nova is friendly with adults, children, dogs, and other animals. He has a lot of energy and will enjoy frequent long walks. Nova was a little bit timid at first with the shelter volunteers, but he warmed up once outside. Nova is still young, so he will definitely benefit from firm, consistent training. Are you alpha in your pack? If so, you might be just the leader Nova needs to allow him to become the best dog he can be. Come on over and meet him soon. Refer …
