One suspect has been caught while the other, and the handgun, has yet to be.
Police are still working to identify a second subject involved in an armed robbery in Palmyra. Police already arrested 41-year-old Lloyd Howard, of Palmyra, and charged him with robbery, aggravated assault and theft. Palmyra Police said a subject was robbed at gunpoint around 11:30 p.m., Jan. 23, near West Fifth Street and Delaware Avenue. The victim told officers he was approached by two men who requested he buy them beer. When the victim refused, police said one of the subjects showed the victim a handgun and robbed him of $20 and a pocket knife. Officials said a man was robbed at gunpoint in front of his broken-down car.
Police here are investigating an Aug. 22 armed robbery against a man whose car broke down on Forklanding Road. A 36-year-old man pulled his car over near the Route 90 bypass after experiencing engine trouble, officials said. The victim reported that a man approached his car, produced a handgun and demanded cash. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim and was last seen walking on Forklanding Road toward Route 73. The victim was unharmed. The suspect is described as a black male, 5-foot-10 to 6 feet, average build and wearing a gray shirt, officials said. Police are searching for four men who robbed the store early Friday. They stole $400 from the clerk after an unsuccessful attempt to make off with the ATM.

Four men, at least two of them armed with handguns, walked into the Chester Avenue 7-Eleven early Friday, duct taped the clerk and tried to steal the ATM machine. At approximately 4:02 a.m., two men wearing ski masks, dark hoodies and gloves entered the store and ordered the clerk behind the counter to the freezer at the back of the store at gunpoint, Moorestown Police said. The robbers wrapped duct tape around the clerk’s arms and legs and stood with him while two more men, similarly dressed, rolled a hand truck into the store and attempted to steal the ATM. The crime stops when the criminals realize that they might just get shot when they try to rob someone. Unfortunately the laws in NJ prohibit ordinary (read: non-politically-connected) people from carrying a firearm for self-defense. The criminals know this, and obviously don't follow that law. So they are free to use firearms to rob those of us who do follow the law.   more ›
