Palmyra officers arrested two men within hours of one another allegedly stealing from Wawa on Cinnaminson Avenue, police department officials said this week. At 11:12 a.m., Jan. 6, officers were dispatched to Wawa after employees reported a man had shoplifted about 28 cans of Red Bull. Officers found the suspect on the light rail platform. Scott Morrison, 38, of Camden, was taken into custody. He was found with a hypodermic needle, too. Morrison was charged with possession of a hypodermic needle and shoplifting. He was unable to post $2,500 bail and was taken to Burlington County Jail pending court. Three people were arrested after trying to steal more than $500 worth of alcohol from ShopRite on New Year's Eve, Cinnaminson Police said. Around noon on Dec. 31, 2012, police were dispatched to ShopRite for a theft in progress. It was reported that several subjects attempted to leave the store with more than $500 worth of alcohol without paying. It was also reported that the subjects began fighting with store employees when confronted. The subjects tried to leave in a vehicle just as police arrived. The vehicle was stopped and the three people were taken into custody. Two of the subjects physically resisted the police during the arrest. Police found a stolen car that led to drug arrests at a Cinnaminson motel.
Cinnaminson Police arrested two Philadelphia men found in a Route 130 hotel room on several charges after police found a stolen car they drove in the hotel's parking lot. Around 2 a.m., Dec. 22, 2012, a Cinnaminson officer was on patrol at the Hallmark Inn. A computer check revealed a car parked in the lot was reported stolen on Dec. 3, 2012 in Philadelphia. The vehicle, a 2011 Toyota Camry, was parked and unoccuppied, police said. Police found the room the subjects were in. While interviewing them, the subjects were in possession of several types of prescription medication not in their original containers. Palmyra Police arrested a local man for disorderly conduct and more after he was found banging on the door of a home, shouting obscenities, officials said. Police responded to a residence in the Harbour section of town around 10:06 p.m., Dec. 23, for a reported disorderly persons call. An intoxicated male subject was banging on the door of a residence and causing a disturbance by yelling obscenities very loudly, police said. Upon arrival, officers learned the male was not welcome on location by the resident. Officers attempted to speak with the intoxicated male but were met with the same disorderly behavior. A car stolen in Lindenwold turned up in Cinnaminson.
A car parked in the lot of the Sleep Inn on Aug. 9 turned up stolen, according to Cinnaminson Police, after a patrolling officer checked on its status. Around 1:20 a.m., a township police officer checked a 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix that had two occupants in the parking lot of the Route 130 hotel. The officer found the car had been reported stolen in Lindenwold Aug. 4. The two occupants of the car were taken into custody. Byaer Johnson, 25, of the unit block of Berkshire Road in Sicklerville, was charged with receiving stolen property, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and certain persons not to possess weapons. May 29 A Camden man was arrested for trespassing after he was seen at Cinnaminson Walmart where he's been previously banned from entering. Marlon D. White, 41, of the 1800 block of Mt. Ephraim Avenue, was arrested in a Cherry Hill Walmart on April 29 for shoplifting. He had been banned from all Walmart locations. Loss prevention officers had been following him on suspicions of shoplifting. White was detained on the trespassing charge and turned over to Cinnaminson Police who charged with with trespassing and released him pending court. May 5 Palmyra officers were dispatched to investigate a motor vehicle hit-and-run crash on Park Avenue on at approximately 2:07 a.m. While on scene, officers learned the vehicle which fled the scene was located on Race Street at West Fourth Street. It had apparently also struck a utility pole at that location. Officers arrived on the scene of the second crash. After investigating the scene and speaking with the driver, officers determined that she was under the influence of an intoxicating liquor and/or drug. Tyra Russell, 25, of Palmyra, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. She was released on summonses pending court. Moorestown Police continue their investigation into a series of burglaries that hit homes across the area, including Cinnaminson.
Moorestown Police have arrested two more people, both from Moorestown, in connection with a series of local residential burglaries including one in Cinnaminson. Police arrested Barbara A. Norman, 20, of Pleasant Valley Apartments, Monday on charges of receiving stolen property from burglaries across the area, as well as theft by deception, according to a report. She was sent to Burlington County Jail in lieu of bail. Earlier today, police arrested Gavin Pierce, 20, of West Third Street, and charged him with receiving stolen property from burglaries. A Cinnaminson man was charged Tuesday with aggravated assault after fighting a 17-year-old male at GNC on Route 130, Cinnaminson Police officials said. Thomas "TJ" Lee Jr., of the 100 block of Devon Road, was also charged with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct after the fight. Police said Lee knew the juvenile. Items and displays at the store were knocked over during the fight, police said. The 17-year-old was treated for his injuries and turned over to his parents. Lee was arrested at his home. Shoplifting Palmyra units were dispatched to Wawa on Broad Street and Cinnaminson Avenue for a reported shoplifting of several Red Bull energy drinks. A description of the accused was given to police through central communications. Responding officers were able to locate the subject fitting the description just as he was getting on to the light rail train. He was found to be in possession of the Red Bull energy drinks along with several other snack items that he had admitted to stealing from Wawa. The suspect stole approximately $51 worth of merchandise from Wawa. Waverly W. Smith, 46, of Roebling, was arrested and charged with shoplifting. He also had a $2,000 warrant out of Trenton for a Transit violation. Smith was released on his own…
