Riverton Police are investigating two borough home burglaries in two days and are asking all residents to call them if they see anything suspicious. On Jan. 28, a home on Carriage House Lane was broken into and jewelry, electronics and money were stolen, said Riverton Police Chief John Shaw. A second burglary was reported on the 600 block of Thomas Avenue. Again, Shaw said, forced entry was made and various electronics and other items were taken. “We don’t get too many [burglaries],” Shaw said. “The last one was several months ago.” Shaw said he wanted residents to know about it, “especially the fact that they were back to back.” “I want to make people aware of it,” he said. Cinnaminson police say a Devon Road man heard a noise, investigated and encountered an alleged burglar in his hallway.
A Devon Road resident chased an alleged burglar from him home early this morning, Cinnaminson Police said today. Shortly before 6 a.m. today, police were dispatched to the 100 block of Devon Road for a burglary. Officials said a resident there heard a noise in the house and investigated. The resident encountered a burglar in the hallway and chased him out of the home. The suspect also entered two vehicles, which were parked in the driveway. The suspect is described as a black male, 5'10", last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue- and orange-striped sweater, and a Philadelphia Flyers hat. A brick was thrown through a basement window, police said.
Cinnaminson Police are investigating a burglary that occurred in the unit block of Fairfax Drive between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., Nov. 20, officials said. Entry was gained into the residence when a brick was thrown through a basement window. Women's jewelry and a check book were stolen from the residence, police said. Anyone with information about the burglary should call Cinnaminson Police at 856-829-6667, ext. 2022. A New York man stole a pass key to enter other guests' rooms.
A Sleep Inn hotel guest allegedly stole a pass key and entered other guests' rooms to steal items, police said. Around 1:41 p.m. Nov. 18, Cinnaminson Police were dispatched to the Route 130 hotel. The accused left before police got there but was arrested after a short foot pursuit. Darrell Fields, 30, of Park Avenue, Bronx in New York, was charged with burglary, resisting arrest and obstruction. Police also found Fields was a fugitive from Pennsylvania. He was lodged in Burlington County Jail on $45,000 bail. A female and male accomplice attempted to lock police out of the room during the investigation. A Cinnaminson police officer suffered minor injuries today after chasing a burglary suspect in the township's East Riverton section, police said today. Two men were arrested and charged with burglary after police were dispatched to the 1900 block of Broad Street for a burglary in progress. The accused had broken a window and entered the home around 1:20 p.m. Police arrested one man without incident. The second subject fled on foot but was apprehended near Rowland Street. Amanda Thompson allegedly stole an Xbox from a Palmyra home.
Palmyra Police arrested a 22-year-old Palmyra woman after fingerprints from the scene of a burglary matched hers. Amanda L. Thompson was arrested on Sept. 20 and charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief, police said. On Aug. 20, around 9:23 a.m., Palmyra officers responded to a home on Van Sant Drice, off Temple Boulevard, in Palmyra, to investigate a burglary. A resident of the home found the home's back door was damaged. The burglar took an Xbox gaming console along with accessories and games. Witness statements, coupled with fingerprints, put Thompson at the scene during the crime. May 11 Palmyra Police arrested a Willingboro man on drug charges after the man, who had first been seen by a resident, was walking into several resident's driveways along Cinnaminson Avenue. A Cinnaminson officer notified Palmyra police that a resident reported a suspicious male in the area of Cinnaminson Avenue and Charles Street. The male had reportedly been walking in and out of different driveways along Cinnaminson Avenue. Officers found the man, 29-year old Ernest Rich, to be disoriented and intoxicated. Rich claimed he had to go to the bathroom but did not want to do it in view of the public so he decided to go in the driveway of a residence. Moorestown Police continue their investigation into a series of burglaries that hit homes across the area, including Cinnaminson.
Moorestown Police have arrested two more people, both from Moorestown, in connection with a series of local residential burglaries including one in Cinnaminson. Police arrested Barbara A. Norman, 20, of Pleasant Valley Apartments, Monday on charges of receiving stolen property from burglaries across the area, as well as theft by deception, according to a report. She was sent to Burlington County Jail in lieu of bail. Earlier today, police arrested Gavin Pierce, 20, of West Third Street, and charged him with receiving stolen property from burglaries. Cinnaminson Police assisted in the arrests of two people for allegedly burglarizing or attempting to burglarize homes here, in Moorestown and the surrounding area over the past few months. A joint investigation among Moorestown, Cinnaminson, Mount Laurel and Maple Shade police and the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office culminated in the arrests of Robert A. Three home break-ins in the last five weeks have Cinnaminson Police thinking the burglaries are all related, said Det. Sgt. William Covert. Police have dubbed the suspects as the “pillowcase burglars” because in the Cinnaminson burglaries, as well as others in neighboring towns, pillowcases were taken to hold the jewelry stolen. Police here are currently investigating a burglary that occurred on Sunday, April 15, between the hours of 3:30 and 8 p.m. on the 100 block of Parry Road. “It’s very rare to get a daytime burglary on the weekend,” Covert said.
