Toy Drive Underway in Burlington County

There are drop-off locations in Cinnaminson and Delran.

The Burlington County Sheriff's Office annual toy drive is officially under way and residents can donate toys for children of families in need at 65 drop-offs located throughout the county. The collection will continue through Dec. 17, when sheriff's officers will gather the bins and return them to the county complex. Last year, the department collected approximately 1,100 toys; the sheriff said she is optimistic that it will exceed that number this holiday season. County To Provide Free Defensive Driving Classes

Participants can save five percent or more on their car insurance.

The Burlington County Sheriff’s Department is offering free defensive driving classes on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout August and September from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 pm. The classes are open to all drivers, but Sheriff Jean Stanfield hopes teen drivers will take advantage of the courses.   “By offering it on Saturdays, we are hoping that parents will elect to take the class with their child before sending them back to school," she said.  The following August classes will be held at the Human Services Building, 795 Woodlane Road, Westampton: The September classes will be held at the Emergency Services Training Center, 53 Academy Drive, Westampton: Persons completing the course may receive up to a 5 percent discount from their insurance …
