Cinnaminson Woman Steals Fees to Pay for Gas, Cell Phone, Police Say

A Cinnaminson woman who worked in the Delanco Township construction office allegedly lined her pockets with permit and rental fees over a two-month period. Carla Ann Sarlo, 44, of South Warrington Avenue, gave herself up to authorities on Friday on suspicion of stealing more than $1,200 in fees from May 1, 2011 to June 30, 2011, according to Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi and Delanco Township Police Chief George Sacalis. Authorities say Sarlo used her position to collect cash from eight people paying required fees. She was supposed to deposit the money into a township bank account, but instead used it to pay for gas, food and her cell phone bill. Here is a wonderful, good-hearted, loving person. Somehow, she went down the wrong path. Don't judge her for this as things must have gotten very bad for her to do this.
