Cold Weather Will Hit Cinnaminson Tonight, All Weekend

Burlington County has declared a cold weather emergency this weekend.

Cinnaminson can expect some cold, windy weather this weekend, and if you squint, some flurries. The occasional snowflake has dropped early Friday afternoon and may even continue throughout this afternoon and evening, according to Valerie Meola, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Mt. Holly. However, the winds are blowing those flakes away as gusts could reach up to 45 miles per hour this afternoon. The temperature is going to hold around the low- to mid-30s Meola said, and tonight, temperatures will be about 25 with winds still high around 25 mph. “On Saturday,” Meola said, “we’re looking at highs in the mid- to upper-30s.” Saturday night, the clouds move back in and it will about 22 degrees overnight. Cold Weather Emergency in Effect

Those seeking temporary shelter can get it.

As high temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday didn't even reach 30 degrees, the Burlington County Health Department declared a Code Blue Cold Weather Emergency that will remain in effect Wednesday night through 9 a.m. Thursday. The low temperature tonight will be 26, according to the National Weather Service in Mt. Holly. This type of emergency is made when winter conditions pose a threat of serious harm or death to those with no shelter. Since a code blue has been obtained, there is short-term emergency shelter available. Call 856-234-8888 or 866-234-5006 for information on the location of those shelters.
