Ordinance Allows For Gas/Food Business Combos
Wawa was interested in Rt. 130 site, but concentrated its efforts in Delran.
Even though the township recently passed an ordinance allowing a gas/food combination to operate along the Route 130 corridor, it doesn't mean Wawa will call the south side of the highway its newest home any time soon. "Within the market, [Wawa] found out they could build one without a zoning variance process in Delran," said Cinnaminson Township Mayor Anthony Minniti. That Wawa, on the northbound side of Route 130 will open soon in Delran, but several local business owners were upset a Super Wawa (gas station and store) could buy land here. In fact, several showed up at a special township meeting last month to say so. But, the distaste and "Say No to Wawa" signs may have been premature, said Minniti, or perhaps not relevant anymore. "…

Linda K the small businesses in this town is what makes this town feel like home. Bring in the Super Wawas' and push the hometown service/gas stations out there goes our hometown sense of community. As far as committee man Minniti doing a good job that is debatable if you weigh the good with the bad, I would rather have someone else fill his shoes.   more ›
