Three Stole $500 of Liquor on New Year's Eve, Police Say

The accused attempted to flee in a vehicle before they were stopped by police.

  Three people were arrested after trying to steal more than $500 worth of alcohol from ShopRite on New Year's Eve, Cinnaminson Police said. Around noon on Dec. 31, 2012, police were dispatched to ShopRite for a theft in progress. It was reported that several subjects attempted to leave the store with more than $500 worth of alcohol without paying. It was also reported that the subjects began fighting with store employees when confronted. The subjects tried to leave in a vehicle just as police arrived. The vehicle was stopped and the three people were taken into custody. Two of the subjects physically resisted the police during the arrest.  Police arrested Edward Williams, 49, of Everitt Street in Camden.
