A Cinnaminson man was sentenced to seven years in state prison for sexually assaulting a teenage boy in Wood Park more than two years ago. Daniel Smith, of Lenola Road, was sentenced in Superior Court Wednesday, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office. Smith will serve seven years for sexual assault, in accordance with a plea agreement he negotiated in November 2012. Smith had been free on bail pending the sentencing. He will also be on parole supervision for the rest of his life and be required to register as a sex offender upon his release, according to the Burlington County Times. Daniel Smith, the Cinnaminson man who was charged with sexual assault after meeting with a 14-year-old boy at Wood Park, admitted today in Superior Court he performed the act after finding the victim online, local reports said. According to Phillyburbs.com, the plea came the same day Smith, 40, was to go on trial. He pleaded guilty to sexual assault and is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 20. A Pennsauken man allegedly sexually assaulted a member of the high-school marching band for which he was a technician, as well as one of her friends, authorities said Wednesday. Steven Fitzgerald, 24, is charged in Pennsylvania with statutory rape, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse, sexual assault, indecent assault and corruption of minors. A suspended Moorestown police officer and his ex-girlfriend are back in custody after a jury convicted them on a slate of sexual assault charges Friday against teenage victims. Officials say a sexual assault involving Robert Melia Jr. and co-defendant Heather Lewis was videotaped.
The trial of former Moorestown police officer Robert Melia Jr. and co-defendant and former girlfriend Heather Lewis started today in Superior Court, reports Phillyburbs.com. In 2009, police found videos that allegedly showed Melia Jr. having sex with five cows. A judge dismissed animal cruelty charges in 2010. Melia is also accused of molesting three children in his home on Cottage Avenue in Moorestown. Authorities said Lewis was involved.

Daniel J. Smith, the 39-year-old Cinnaminson man who is currently serving time on drug charges, will go to trial in May on sexual assault charges from early last year, according to Phillyburbs.com. A 21-year-old Evesham man was arrested today in Riverton after attempting to arrange a sexual encounter with a 13-year-old girl, according to authorities. Craig R. Blickman, of 18 Apple Way in Evesham, was charged with attempted sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, said Riverton Police Chief John Shaw. The Riverton Police Department and the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office Sexual Assault/Child Abuse Unit started an investigation after they were notified by school officials two weeks ago of the underage girl's Facebook and text message relationship with the accused. Police said a Burlington City man kidnapped and robbed a woman before taking her to a Cinnaminson motel.
A Burlington City man was arrested Thursday, accused of kidnapping, robbery, aggravated sexual assault and more, Cinnaminson Police said. Jesse J. Wiles, 24, of the 300 block of High Street in Burlington, has been accused of picking up a woman along Route 130 last July and taking her to a local motel in the township. Police say he assaulted the woman there. Wiles was also in possession of a handgun. Wiles was detained by New Jersey Transit police officers in Camden and turned over to Cinnaminson officers. He has been accused of kidnapping, robbery, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, felon in possession of a weapon and aggravated sexual assault.
