Maureen Benetz and Chris Grabosky have been planning their end of the world wedding for three years.
If the Mayans are wrong and today is not doomsday, it still definitely marks an end for Cinnaminson's Chris Grabosky. He’s getting married today. But the bachelor-no-more and his fiancée, Maureen Benetz, knew this day was coming; they planned a Dec. 21, 2012, wedding three years ago. “We knew what day we were getting married three hours after we got engaged,” said Benetz. Benetz and Grabosky, both 25 and from Cinnaminson, didn’t have a normal engagement, so why should their wedding be run-of-the-mill? Somebody's wedding day didn't end so joyfully as three women allegedly assaulted a fourth woman in the bathroom during a wedding reception at The Merion over the weekend, police said. Around 11:30 p.m., Friday, July 13, Cinnaminson Police were dispatched to the Route 130 facility to find the three women involved left prior to their arrival. The victim, Catherine Waterfield, had called police and said she was followed into the bathroom during the reception of the wedding she was attending. She said three women assaulted her. Waterfield was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries and released. Providence House Domestic Violence Services of Catholic Charities hosts the Taste of Burlington County to spearhead its cause.
Rachel Johnston said her short time with Providence House has taught her what communities can do when they pool together to stop domestic violence. “The many services that are provided for disadvantaged women trying to get back on their feet would not be available if it wasn’t for the dedication of so many people and from the cooperation of the public,” said Johnston, community affairs coordinator, who joined Providence House in Delran seven months ago.
