South Jersey Men Accused in PA Acme Thefts

A Cherry Hill resident and a Maple Shade resident are charged with stealing over-the-counter medication.

NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA—A pair of South Jersey men who were wanted by store security for more than $40,000 in thefts over numerous incidents were arrested Monday at an Acme in Newtown Square, PA after allegedly trying to steal from one of the chain's stores again, Newtown Township Police said.   The two men, who were only identified as a 36-year-old from Cherry Hill and a 35-year-old from Maple Shade, were caught on West Chester Pike after it was reported they'd fled the store in a white Lincoln with New Jersey tags. A third man was arrested as he was walking away from the grocery store, police said. Police: Two Men Stole Metal in East Riverton

A witness saw the suspects stealing metal from a yacht club near the river.

Cinnaminson Police were dispatched to North Randolph Street in the township's East Riverton section Wedneday morning for a reported burglary. Two men—one from Delran—were arrested and charged with burglary and theft.  A witness reported seeing two men enter the Royal Delaware Yacht Club property, remove metal from one of the buildings and put it in a truck. The witness said the men them climbed a fence at an adjacent building and removed metal from that property as well. The men allegedly left the area in a blue GMC pickup truck. Police stopped the vehicle on Broad Street and arrested Jeffrey Loften, 52, of the 500 block of Line Street in Camden, and Kevin Green, 51, of the 3000 block of Route 130 in Delran. Police: Final Subject Arrested for Scrap Metal Thefts

Three were charged with burglary and theft.

Cinnaminson Police announced the arrest of the final subject wanted in connection with October scrap metal thefts from Trans Axle Corporation on Rt. 73. Lamont Kee, 41, of the 1500 block of Minnesota Road in Camden, was arrested Wednesday by the New Jersey State Police Task Force in Camden. Kee joins his brother Alfred Kee, 43, of the unit block of Oak Road in Sicklerville and Khalim A. Barge, 29, of the 1500 block of Pershing Street in Camden, as the subjects arrested. Barge was remanded to Burlington County Jail on Nov. 18 and Alfred Kee posted bail on Nov. 11. All were charged in conjunction with the burglary and theft of scrap metal from the rear of Trans Axle. Bike thefts continue to occur in the borough.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Palmyra Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction. The information is from incidents from July 22 to July 29. July 22, 10:43 p.m. Officers were dispatched to Garfield Avenue on a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, who said someone smashed out his driver’s side window, struck his windshield twice with a blunt object and punctured his tailgate. Police Investigating String of Burglaries

Three homes were targeted in three days, all in the same area.

Police are investigating several recent burglaries that have taken place in one part of the township this week. Det. Sgt. William Covert said he thinks the burglaries are all related, since they occurred within a few blocks of each other. "We think they are all linked," Covert said Friday. On Wednesday, July 20, between the hours of 4:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., a burglary occurred in the 300 block of Forklanding Road, police said. The homeowner returned to discover a .22-caliber Mossberg rifle with a 4X scope inside a black carrying case was missing from his living room. Nothing else appeared to have been taken. Police: Man Steals TV, Sells in Camden for Drug Money

A Merchantville man walked out of Walmart Wednesday with 26-inch television and fled in his car before Cinnaminson Police picked him up at a local motel later, officials said. Douglas M. Verschelde, 27, of the 100 block of Volan Street, was charged with shoplifting after he walked out of the Cinnaminson store with a Sanyo television valued at $278. Verschelde fled into the parking lot when he was asked to show his receipt. He put the television into his car and drove south on Route 130, police said. The following day, Cinnaminson detectives located him at the Riviera Motor Lodge on Route 73 in Pennsauken. Cinnaminson Woman Tried to Sell Stolen Jewelry

A Pomona Road woman was charged with receiving stolen property.

A Cinnaminson woman was arrested Monday and charged with receiving stolen property after she sold a stolen ring worth more than $3,000. Melissa A. Coady, 25, of the 700 block of Pomona Road, sold a $3,500 ring stolen from a neighbor's home to a Cash for Gold store in Cherry Hill for $60, police said. The ring was stolen when the neighbor's home was burglarized on May 6, but the theft wasn't discovered for a week. Police learned Coady sold the ring the same day it was stolen, and that she was seen in the neighbor's yard that day. The victim positively identified the ring from a photo taken at the gold shop. Three Women Arrested in Military Grave Marker Thefts

A Cinnaminson man led police to the identify of the suspects, who allegedly stole hundreds of markers from cemeteries in South Jersey.

Police here are thanking a Cinnaminson man after they arrested three females in connection with a series of military grave marker thefts from area cemeteries—including Lakeview Memorial Park on Route 130. Arielle K. Levin, 19, of Palmyra, Jamie L. Babcock, 27, of Bellmawr, and Tosha M. Fugett, 25, of Riverside, were arrested and charged with theft and fencing stolen property after an investigation. The Cinnaminson man—a Philadelphia scrap yard owner—got enough information out of the women who were selling him stolen goods that police identified them, said Det. Sgt. William Covert of the Cinnaminson Township Police Department. The three women brought stolen military flag grave markers—some dating back to the Civil War—to  the scrap yard. …

ShopRite employee arrested for using customer's credit card.

Jan. 20 Theft  A ShopRite employee was arrested Thursday and charged with theft of lost or mislaid property and credit card theft, said Cinnaminson police. Natisha S. Clayton, 27, of the 100 block of Pfeiffer Street in Camden, was working a cash register at the Route 130 store on Dec. 17. A customer forgot a credit card and police said Clayton picked it up and later used it to make several purchases at a store in Camden. Clayton was identified by store security video when the customer received a bill and realized it had been used at the ShopRite in Cinnaminson. Vandalism Reported At Lakeview Cemetery

Grave markers and mausoleum name plates have been damaged, totaling thousands of dollars.

Police here are looking for a person or persons who broke into Lakeview Cemetery on Route 130 in Cinnaminson and vandalized grave markers and nameplates. At least three instances of criminal mischief have been reported. The first incident was reported on Dec. 29, 2010 and additional incidents have been reported on Jan. 3 and Jan. 4, police said. Police say one or more persons entered the cemetery grounds and damaged grave markers outside, as well as inside the mausoleum. Some of the larger nameplates vandalized are valued at over $1,000. The value of missing items and damage have not been totaled said, said police, but it’s estimated to be several thousand dollars. The investigation is ongoing.
