CMS Students Face Soup-er Bowl Challenge

To celebrate, Principal Frank Golburn dressed like a turkey.

  The Cinnaminson Middle School students and staff continued with their plan to “Take a Stand…Lend a Hand, last week for their annual Soup-er Bowl Challenge.  Students and staff were asked to bring in one or more cans of soup or non-perishable foods to contribute to the Food Bank of South Jersey and the Bread of Life Food Pantry in Palmyra. As a reward for the students, if they reached their goal of over 600 cans, Principal Goulburn and the Athletic Director, Mr. Liddell, would dress up as a turkey and chicken for the day. The school family surpassed their goal and collected over 900 items.  In addition to this collection, the club held its annual Senior Citizens’ Soup-er Supper last Wednesday in the middle school cafeteria. Photos and Story: CMS Unity Day Trip

Students toured the White House and were a part of the wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns.

  Eighty members of the Cinnaminson Middle School Unity Club, along with staff and parent chaperones, and Unity Club co-advisors Melissa DeClementi and Alison Palat, traveled to Washington D.C. Nov. 30, as part of their plan for Unity Day 2013, "Take a Stand...Lend a Hand."   They departed the middle school bright and early at 6 a.m. in order to be at the Capitol for a brief meeting with N.J. Rep Jon Runyan. Runyan posed for a group photo with the club and then went on to speak to the students about service and the sacrifices of our military.   From there, the participants headed to the White House for the holiday tour. While standing in line for security, there was a sighting of a Presidential helicopter leaving the White House. …
