Man Tried to Withdraw $9K From Account That Wasn't His, Police Say

Cinnaminson police charged the New York man with theft and forgery.

  A New York man with a Florida ID attempted to withdraw $9,000 from an account at a Cinnaminson bank that wasn't his, police said today. Around 5:48 p.m., Feb. 1, Cinnaminson police were dispatched Wells Fargo on Route 130 for a male who was attempting to open new accounts and withdraw money from a different account, officials said. Employees became suspicious and called police. An investigation revealed the suspect had presented a counterfeit Florida driver license, and counterfeit credit and debit cards. The subject had attempted to withdraw $9,000 from an account. Employees of the bank did not allow any transactions and called police immediately. Steven M. Great detective work by the employees of Cinnaminson's Wells Fargo. I am sure the owner(s) of that bank account are very grateful that the employees prevented Salerno from stealing their money. I just hope Salerno does not try to write a check for bail money!   more ›
