Woman, 90, Smacks Down Would-Be Thief

Rash of burglaries continue in Cinnaminson.

A 90-year-old Cinnaminson woman smacked the hand of an alleged burglar Friday night after the suspect broke the glass of her back door in an attempt to break in, according to police. The alleged burglar fled. Cinnaminson—and other surrounding towns—have been dealing with a recent rash of burglaries. Last week, Det. Sgt. William Covert said he thinks the burglaries are related. Cinnaminson police said the woman, who lives on Forklanding Road, saw a black four-door sedan drive around to the back of her house. The alleged burglar knocked on the door, and when he received no response, went to the car, got a crow bar, and tried to pry open the back door.
