Our inspiration is 3 year old Emme. She was diagnosed with alopecia before her first birthday. She is a healthy, charasmatic, beautiful girl with a contagious laugh and an excitement for life. She has something to teach everyone.

"We had never heard of alopecia in children until Emme's eyelashes started falling out at age 9 months. We were so relieved to learn that she's healthy!! Now we look at her beautiful face each day knowing what a blessing she is to us and those who know us. We are grateful for a community who surronds Emme with love", says Emme's mom Amelia.

Alopecia areata is a common autoimmune skin disease resulting in the loss of hair on the scalp and elsewhere on the body. It usually starts with one or more small, round, smooth patches on the scalp and can progress to total hair loss.

Alopecia areata affects approximately two percent of the population overall, including more than 5 million people in the United States alone. Currently, there are no FDA approved treatments for alopecia areata.
