Camden Man Chooses Wrong Place to Light Up

Palmyra Police arrested a man wanted on eight warrants after he started smoking on the light rail platform.

A wanted Camden man got himself arrested this week after he lit up a cigarette on the light rail platform in Palmyra, police said.

Palmyra Police got out at the light rail station at 10 E. Broad Street just before 11 a.m. Monday to talk to the smoker. As officers were obtaining the man’s information, they discovered he had given the wrong name and date of birth. After several attempts, he finally gave the correct information, at which time the officers learned the man—Nicholas Gorman, 25, of Camden—had eight outstanding warrants for his arrest from Camden County Court, according to a report.

Gorman was arrested and taken to the Palmyra Police station before being turned over to Camden Country Metro Police. He was charged with hindering apprehension by Palmyra Police.
