Slogan Captures Cinnaminson's 'Future'

The slogan on the township's new website is a 'perfect fit' for what Cinnaminson is currently all about, according to its creator.

When township officials solicited slogan ideas from residents over the summer, they got everything from catchy statements invoking Cinnaminson’s “sweetwater” heritage to handwritten personal letters explaining what the township means to the families that call it home.

“I was really touched by the outpouring of people’s stories,” said Committeeman Don Brauckmann. “(Choosing a slogan) was as difficult as I knew it was going to be.”

The township sought slogans for its new websitewhich launched over the weekend—that would encapsulate the state of Cinnaminson and explain what makes it a great place to live. They received more than 100 ideas. Brauckmann said many of them mentioned “sweet” or “sweetwater,” references to the township’s Native American heritage.

“Live the sweet life” was a top contender, he said.

But Brauckmann, and others involved in the selection process, felt those references required too much explanation—Cinnaminson translates to “sweetwater” in the language of the Lenni-Lenape tribe—and the slogan should be something everyone, not just those familiar with the township’s history, could understand.

And so, after some deliberation, the township chose Dana Dewedoff Fratantoro’s slogan: “Building our future ... together.”

Following a conversation with Deputy Mayor Anthony Minniti, Fratantoro submitted multiple slogans, all centered around the idea of growth and looking toward the future: “Growing together”; “Grow with us”; “A town that will grow with you.”

“In my mind, it’s a perfect fit that represents what our current town is all about,” said Fratantoro, who’s lived in Cinnaminson most of her life and runs her own photography business. “We needed something to help represent us and our future.”

Brauckmann agreed: “It just settled in really well with what we’re doing.”
