The 2nd Annual Great Pompeston Rubber Duck Race is History!

Thank you to everyone who helped make the duck race a huge success!

First, a gigantic THANK YOU! to everyone who came out to be a part of the Watchdogs of the Watersheds' duck race on Saturday! I especially want to thank the volunteers, our sponsors: Milanese Pizza, Long's Automotive, and Pierco Productions; and our special musical guests: Michael Tearson and Kenn Kweder & Jim Fogerty. The weather was perfect, the ducks almost cooperated and I'm pretty sure a good time was had by all. The best part for me was that I didn't fall in the creek this year, but my husband George did! If only I had my camera with me when he came crawling up the bank.
Speaking of cameras, if anyone has pictures from Saturday, please post them here or email them to me at watershedwatchdogs@gmail.com, or post them on our facebook page.
The goal of the day, besides having lots of fun, was to raise awareness of the Pompeston Creek and how much it has to offer. When people see what a beautiful natural resource we have right in our own backyard, perhaps they will take better care of it.
The Watchdogs also raised enough money to give a graduation awards to deserving seniors from area high schools - kids who have shown a committment to the environment through volunteerism and community service.

Again, thank you to everyone who was a part of the day!
