The Great Pompeston Rubber Duck Race

The weather may have washed out "Walk the Walk", but you can't keep a good duck down! The Great Pompeston Rubber Duck Race has been rescheduled for this Sunday, April 29th.

Post time for the duck race is 1:00PM, but we will be at the park all afternoon. Starting at noon, there will be environmental displays and demonstrations, kids' games, refreshments, and at 2:00PM a guided creek walk from the park down to the Delaware River. There will be drawings throughout the afternoon for more than 2 dozen prizes - we have gift cards, and garden ornaments and even a free oil change from Long's Automotive to give away. Rover and Marshall, the African tortoises, will be there too!

All participants are automatically entered in the prize drawings, and you don't have to be there to win!

Ducks are still available, and can be purchased the day of the event or ahead of time by calling 609-760-3223. The cost is $5.00 each or 6/$25.00 - all proceeds go to support the ongoing mission of the pompeston creek watershed association (www.pompestoncreek.org)

You can watch the race from several locations - the berm around the old lily pond, from the Broad Street bridge (the finish line), from the turtle lady dock or from the "scenic overlook" on S. Pompess Avenue.
